Leader Tambov delivered the sixth victory. This time they beat 7th ranked Runa Basket (2-6) 81-63 in Moscow. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Runa Basket. Tambov forced 20 Runa Basket turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists. Center Andrey Voron (208-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Kirill Baklenev (184-88) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 assists for the winners. Five Tambov players scored in double figures. Forward Ernest Tarasov (200-92) replied with 15 points and 6 rebounds and forward Pavel Novikov (192-96) added 13 points and 4 steals in the effort for Runa Basket. Runa Basket's coach Jovan Popovic let to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Tambov maintains first position with 6-2 record. Newly promoted Runa Basket dropped to the bottom place with six games lost. Tambov will play against Stroitiel Engels (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Runa Basket will play against the league's second-placed Dyn-Magn.ChL (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
