Regular Season Round 6: Alba - Atomeromu 96-67

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Alba as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Alba smashed 12th ranked Atomeromu in Szekesfehervar 96-67. The game was mostly controlled by Alba. Atomeromu managed to win third quarter 24-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Alba dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Atomeromu's 20. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Atomeromu's players. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Peter Lorant (206-85, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Naturalized Serbian Luka Markovic (196-93) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four Alba players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard P.J. Hill Jr. (182-87, college: Ohio St., agency: Octagon Europe) who recorded 17 points and his fellow American import power forward Matt Tiby (203-92, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) added 11 points and 11 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Atomeromu lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth place with five games lost. They share the position with MAFC. Atomeromu will play next round against Vasas trying to get back on the winning streak. Alba will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Kaposvari on the road.
