Neuchatel (2-3) survived in overtime against Lausanne (1-4) by eight points 102-94 on Saturday night. The game took place in Lausanne. But the guests from Neuchatel were better at the end. Lausanne was tied after three quarters and then recorded another tie at the end of regular time. They were eventually defeated in overtime 15-23s. Lausanne was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American swingman Durand Johnson (198-92, college: St.John's) who scored 26 points and 7 rebounds. The former international Brian Savoy (189-92) chipped in 19 points and 7 assists. Four Neuchatel players scored in double figures. American guard Karl Cochran (185-92, college: Wofford) produced 36 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 8 assists and the other American import forward Brandon Swannegan (206-93, college: Tulsa) added 22 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Neuchatel moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Lugano Tigers. Newly promoted Lausanne dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. Neuchatel will have a break next round. Lausanne will play at home against Winterthur (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
