Regular Season Round 7: Kaposvari - Alba 72-88

An interesting game for Alba (6-1) which played road game in Kaposvar against 3rd placed Kaposvari (4-3). First ranked Alba had an easy win 88-72. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kaposvari. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 46-25 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Alba dominated on the defensive end, holding Kaposvari to just 5 points in third quarter. 24 personal fouls committed by Kaposvari helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Brandon Taylor (178-94, college: Utah) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 8 assists and 4 steals. Canadian guard Justin Edwards (190-92, college: Kansas St.) contributed with 25 points for the winners. The former international Marton Fodor (192-81) answered with 22 points and the former international power forward Roland Hendlein (206-86) added 11 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Kaposvari. Four Kaposvari players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Alba have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-1 record. Kaposvari at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Sopron KC. Alba are looking forward to face Vasas (#13) in Budapest in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Kaposvari will play on the road against ZTE KK (#6) in Zalaegerszeg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
