Regular Season Round 7: Szedeak - Sopron KC 88-86

A very close game took place in Szeged between Szedeak and Sopron KC. Ninth ranked Szedeak (3-2) got a very close home victory over 4th placed Sopron KC (4-3). Szedeak managed to escape with a 2-point win 88-86 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sopron KC. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Sopron KC won fourth quarter 21-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Szedeak looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Bulgaria Ivan Lilov (194-88, agency: Two Points) who led the winners and scored 28 points. Serbian guard Marko Boltic (193-87, agency: 011 Sports) accounted for 13 points and 14 assists for the winning side. American point guard Jay Threatt (180-89, college: Delaware St.) came up with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and naturalized Serbian center Marko Spica (205-86, college: Cent.Michigan, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Sopron KC in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Szedeak have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with ZTE KK and PVSK Pannon. Loser Sopron KC keeps the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Kaposvari. Szedeak will meet at home Jaszberenyi (#9) in the next round. Sopron KC will play against the league's second-placed Kormend (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
