Regular Season Round 8: Cegledi EKK - UNIQA Sopron 58-64

Cegledi EKK (#4) was upset in Cegled by seventh ranked MKB Euroleasing 64-58. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Cegledi EKK. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Cegledi EKK won third quarter 11-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by Australia center Cayla George (192-89) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and American guard Yvonne Turner (176-87, college: Nebraska) supported her with 15 points and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 11 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists by Serbian Maja Skoric (185-89) did not help to save the game for Cegledi EKK. Point guard Nora Nagy-Bujdoso (155-92) added 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Four Cegledi EKK players scored in double figures. Defending champion (5-2) moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Cegledi EKK at the other side dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. MKB Euroleasing will play against ZTE NKK (#6) in Zalaegerszeg in the next round. Cegledi EKK will play on the road against the league's second-placed UNI Gyor and hopes to get back on the winning track.
