Regular Season Round 9: MBA Moscow - Ryazan 84-83

Important game to mention about took place in Moscow. Eleventh ranked MBA Moscow (2-5) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 10th ranked Ryazan (2-6) 84-83 on Saturday evening. Power forward Alexei Kuznetsov (205-84) stepped up and scored 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and guard Konstantin Babynin (192-88) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists. MBA Moscow's coach Alexander Afanasyev allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was forward Alexander Fomin (206-86) with 23 points and 6 rebounds and guard Viktor Zaryazhko (195-92) scored 20 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. MBA Moscow moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Kupol-Rodniki. Ryazan lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with six games lost. MBA Moscow will face higher ranked Samara-SGEU (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ryazan will play against Universitet-Yugra (#7) in Surgut and hope to win that game.
