Date: November 19, 2016
A Division top team - Alba (7-1) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat thirteenth ranked Vasas (1-6) in Szekesfehervar 94-86. Vasas trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 28-24 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 86-94 at the end of the game. Alba looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of Canadian guard Justin Edwards (190-92, college: Kansas St.) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals and American point guard Brandon Taylor (178-94, college: Utah) who added 15 points and 8 assists during the contest. Five Alba players scored in double figures. American forward A.J. Pacher (208-92, college: Wright St.) responded with 28 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Ronnie Taylor (187-81, college: NC-Greensboro, agency: Octagon Europe) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Vasas' coach Bulcsu Sarosi rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Alba have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-1 record. Vasas lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the thirteenth place with six games lost. Alba are looking forward to face Szolnok (#3) in Szolnok in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Vasas will play on the road against Kaposvari (#4) and are hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
