Regular Season Round 8: Szolnok - Atomeromu 105-87

Very predictable result when third ranked Szolnok (5-2) defeated at home 11th ranked Atomeromu (2-6) 105-87 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Szolnok. Atomeromu was better in second period 29-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of international swingman David Vojvoda (196-90) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and Montenegrin swingman Milos Borisov (201-85) who added 26 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Szolnok players scored in double figures. American power forward Matt Tiby (203-92, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and Lithuanian guard Laurynas Samenas (192-88) scored 25 points and 4 assists. Atomeromu's coach Gediminas Petrauskas let to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Defending champion maintains third position with 5-2 record having just three points less than leader Alba. Loser Atomeromu keeps the eleventh place with six games lost. Szolnok will face league's leader Alba in Szekesfehervar in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Atomeromu will play at home against Szedeak (#5) and hope to win that game.
