Regular Season Round 10: Kupol-Rodniki - Sakhalin 75-66

The most important game in the last round took place in Izhevsk between third ranked Sakhalin (6-2) and ninth ranked Kupol-Rodniki (3-5) on Tuesday night. Sakhalin was defeated by Kupol-Rodniki in a tough game on the road 66-75. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sakhalin. Kupol-Rodniki forced 24 Sakhalin turnovers. Center Aleksey Karpeko (204-89) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Forward Maksim Zakharov (198-89, college: E.Utah JC) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Kupol-Rodniki players scored in double figures. Forward Maxim Sheleketo (204-87) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and the former international power forward Artem Yakovenko (205-88, agency: Alti Sport) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kupol-Rodniki maintains ninth position with 3-5 record. Sakhalin at the other side keeps the third place with two games lost. They share the position with Spartak-Prim.. Kupol-Rodniki are looking forward to face Khimky-Podmoskoye (#12) on the road in the next round. Sakhalin will play against MBA Moscow (#10) and is hoping to win this game.
