Regular Season Round 7: Lugano Tigers - Monthey 69-65

The game between second ranked Monthey (4-2) and tenth ranked Lugano Tigers (3-4) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Monthey was defeated by Lugano Tigers in a tough game in Lugano 65-69. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 20-11. But Monthey won third quarter 20-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American center Eric Williams (206-84, college: Wake Forest, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international forward Derek Stockalper (196-84, college: Cal Poly - SLO) helped adding 18 points and 5 rebounds. Four Lugano Tigers players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard James Sinclair (190-93, college: W.Carolina) responded with 20 points and the other American import power forward Jordan Heath (208-91, college: Canisius, agency: Inception Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Lugano Tigers moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Lausanne and Boncourt. Monthey at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. They share it with Starwings and Swiss Central. Lugano Tigers is looking forward to face higher ranked Starwings (#5) in Basel in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Monthey will play on the road against Boncourt and is hoping to win this game.
