Regular Season Round 7: MBA - Kazanochka 62-66

Bottom-ranked MBA (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 66-62 loss to ninth ranked Kazanochka (2-5) in Moscow. They also forced 22 MBA turnovers and outrebounded them 43-29 including 17 on the offensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for Montenegrin guard Jelena Vucetic (178-93) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. American power forward Sarah Boothe (195-90, college: Stanford) accounted for 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Four Kazanochka players scored in double figures. Ekaterina Sytnyak (185-82, agency: LBM Management) came up with 14 points and 5 rebounds and forward Yana Degtyarskaya (181-95) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for MBA in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Kazanochka moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Dynamo M. MBA lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. Kazanochka's next round opponent will be higher ranked Spartak Vidnoye (#7) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. MBA will play against Spartak Noginsk and hopes to get finally their first victory.
