Regular Season Round 9: Kaposvari - Vasas 94-82

Very predictable result when fourth ranked Kaposvari (6-3) beat at home 13th ranked Vasas (1-7) 94-82. The game was mostly controlled by Kaposvari. Vasas was better in second period 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kaposvari forced 19 Vasas turnovers. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Malik Cooke (201-89, college: S.Carolina, agency: Inception Sports) nailed 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and guard Javier Duren (193-93, college: Yale) accounted for 16 points and 6 rebounds. Five Kaposvari players scored in double figures. Forward A.J. Pacher (208-92, college: Wright St.) came up with 25 points and 8 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and point guard Ronnie Taylor (187-81, college: NC-Greensboro, agency: Octagon Europe) added 20 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals respectively for Vasas in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Kaposvari moved-up to third place. Vasas lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team keep the thirteenth position with seven games lost. Kaposvari's next round opponent will be Falco KC (#9) in Szombathely which should be theoretically an easy game. Vasas will play at home against ZTE KK (#4) and hope to win that game.
