Regular Season Round 9: ELTE-BEAC - MTK 70-54

BEAC-Ujbuda can celebrate finally their first win this season after seven consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat MTK (0-8) 70-54. The game was mostly controlled by BEAC-Ujbuda. MTK was better in second period 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BEAC-Ujbuda dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to MTK's 14. They outrebounded MTK 45-27 including a 34-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for power forward Judit Barnai (189-94) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Krisztina Sule (178-87) contributed with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international swingman Orsolya Zsovar (180-84) answered with 22 points and 6 rebounds and guard Bettina Baksa (171-92) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for MTK. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. BEAC-Ujbuda maintains ninth place with 1-7 record. It was MTK's eighth loss in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with eight games lost. They share the position with PINKK-Pecsi. BEAC-Ujbuda will play against bottom-ranked PINKK-Pecsi (#11) on the road in the next round. MTK will play against Atomeromu and hopes to get finally their first victory.
