Regular Season Round 9: Miskolc - PEAC-Pecs 54-59

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Miskolc. First ranked PEAC-Pecs faced 4th placed Miskolc. Guests from Pecs (7-1) defeated host Miskolc (5-3) 59-54. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Miskolc. Miskolc trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 23-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 54-59 at the end of the game. PEAC-Pecs dominated on the defensive end, holding Miskolc to just 6 points in second quarter. The best player for the winners was international power forward Zsofia Licskai (189-93) who scored 16 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). American forward Jessica Kuster (188-92, college: Rice) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian power forward Tina Jovanovic (190-91) who recorded 14 points and 8 rebounds and British-Australian forward Louella Tomlinson (193-88, college: St.Mary's, CA) added 4 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. PEAC-Pecs maintains first place with 7-1 record. Miskolc at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with ZTE NKK. PEAC-Pecs are looking forward to face ZTE NKK (#6) in Zalaegerszeg in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Miskolc will play on the road against MKB Euroleasing in Sopron and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
