Regular Season Round 9: UNI Gyor - Cegledi EKK 89-69

There was no surprise when 6th ranked Cegledi EKK (5-4) was crushed on the road by second ranked UNI Gyor (7-2) 89-69. UNI Gyor players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American forward Cyesha Goree (190-93, college: Michigan, agency: Interperformances) nailed a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side and international guard Zsofia Simon (181-89, agency: Interperformances) accounted for 21 points. Four UNI Gyor players scored in double figures. Point guard Nora Nagy-Bujdoso (155-92) came up with 16 points and 7 rebounds and international guard Dora Medgyessy (174-86) added 13 points and 7 assists respectively for Cegledi EKK in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. UNI Gyor have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 7-2 record having just one point less than leader PEAC-Pecs. Cegledi EKK at the other side dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. UNI Gyor will have a break next round. Cegledi EKK will play at home against Vasas Akademia (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
