Regular Season Round 12: Sakhalin - Univ.Surgut 83-85

The most shocking disappointment of round 12 in the Superleague 1 was only two-point a home defeat of 5th ranked Sakhalin (6-4) to sixth ranked Universitet-Yugra (7-3) 85-83. 26 personal fouls committed by Sakhalin helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian Nikola Lepojevic (195-82, agency: BeoExcell) who helped to win the game recording 30 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Lithuanian point guard Linas Lekavicius (186-84, college: American) who added 12 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Maxim Sheleketo (204-87) with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Aleksey Golyahov (190-84, agency: AproK Sports Group) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Four Universitet-Yugra and five Sakhalin players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Universitet-Yugra have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Spartak-Prim. and Samara-SGEU. Sakhalin lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Universitet-Yugra will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sakhalin will play on the road against Samara-SGEU (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
