The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Monthey as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Monthey defeated 7th ranked Neuchatel at home 70-62. Neuchatel trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 18-13 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 62-70 at the end of the game. It was a good game for the former international power forward Jonathan Dubas (204-91) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 8 rebounds. American power forward Jordan Heath (208-91, college: Canisius, agency: Inception Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Serbian power forward Zoran Krstanovic (204-82) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and the former international Brian Savoy (189-92) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Neuchatel. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Fribourg and Starwings. Neuchatel at the other side dropped to the eighth place with five games lost. They share the position with Massagno and Boncourt. Neuchatel will play next round against Winterthur trying to get back on the winning streak. Monthey will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Swiss Central in Luzern.
