Regular Season Round 10: Szolnok - Vasas 107-68
Date: December 10, 2016
The game between fifth ranked Szolnok (6-3) and 14th ranked Vasas (1-9) in Szolnok on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Szolnok outscored guests from Budapest 107-68. The game without a history. Szolnok led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Vasas' players. It was a very good performance for American forward Troy Barnies (200-89, college: Maine) who helped to win the game recording 21 points. International swingman David Vojvoda (196-90) contributed with 14 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Szolnok players scored in double figures. American forward A.J. Pacher (208-92, college: Wright St.) replied with 21 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Sam Thompson (201-92, college: Ohio St., agency: Pensack Sports) added 23 points in the effort for Vasas. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with PVSK Pannon. Vasas lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Szolnok will face Kaposvari (#5) on the road in the next round. Vasas will play against ZTE KK (#6) and hope to win that game.
