Regular Season Round 10: MTK - Atomeromu 59-79

Date: December 10, 2016
Bottom-ranked MTK is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their ninth consecutive match to third ranked Atomeromu (7-2) 79-59 on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Atomeromu. MTK managed to win fourth quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Atomeromu forced 21 MTK turnovers and outrebounded them 35-21 including 20 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Slovenian center Eva Lisec (192-95) notched a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds to lead the effort and Slovenian swingman Maja Erkic (183-85) supported her with 15 points and 6 assists. Four Atomeromu players scored in double figures. Even 9 points and 6 rebounds by the former international swingman Orsolya Zsovar (180-84) did not help to save the game for MTK. Guard Bettina Baksa (171-92) added 10 points for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Atomeromu moved-up to second place, which they share with UNIQA Eurol. and UNI Gyor. Newly promoted MTK still closes the standings with nine games lost. Atomeromu will meet BEAC-Ujbuda (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. MTK will play against PINKK-Pecsi and hopes to get finally their first victory.
