Regular Season Round 10: Cegledi EKK - Vasas Akademia 79-65

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 8th ranked Vasas Akademia's (3-6) road loss to seventh ranked Cegledi EKK (6-4) 65-79 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Cegledi EKK. Vasas Akademia managed to win fourth quarter 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cegledi EKK dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Vasas Akademia's 38. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Vasas Akademia's players. Point guard Nora Nagy-Bujdoso (155-92) notched 22 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and international forward Szidonia Katona (180-93, agency: Interperformances) supported her with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Cegledi EKK's coach Laszlo Cziczas used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 16 points and 6 rebounds by Serbian guard Snezana Colic (178-92) did not help to save the game for Vasas Akademia. Bulgarian forward Radoslava Bachvarova (183-87, college: VCU) added 18 points for lost side. Cegledi EKK moved-up to fifth place. Loser Vasas Akademia keeps the eighth position with six games lost. Cegledi EKK will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Vasas Akademia will play against UNI Gyor (#3) and hope to secure a win.
