Regular Season Round 10: PINKK-Pecsi - ELTE-BEAC 74-64

Date: December 11, 2016
PINKK-Pecsi's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after eight consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat BEAC-Ujbuda (1-8) 74-64 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by PINKK-Pecsi. BEAC-Ujbuda managed to win third quarter 25-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 24-of-26 free shots (92.3 percent) during the game. PINKK-Pecsi outrebounded BEAC-Ujbuda 42-23 including a 33-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by BEAC-Ujbuda helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian power forward Nevena Markovic (193-93, college: IUPUI) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. The former international power forward Bettina Bozoki (191-89) contributed with 10 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Szandra Pal (176-86, college: SE Missouri St.) replied with 18 points and 5 rebounds and forward Krisztina Sule (178-87) added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for BEAC-Ujbuda. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. PINKK-Pecsi left bottom position moving up to ninth place, which they share with ELTE-BEAC. PINKK-Pecsi is looking forward to face bottom-ranked MTK (#11) in Budapest in the next round. BEAC-Ujbuda will play at home against the league's second-placed Atomeromu having rather not much hope for a victory.
