Regular Season Round 10: Kormend - Atomeromu 102-64
Date: December 11, 2016
No shocking result in a game when second ranked Kormend (7-3) crushed at home 12th ranked Atomeromu (3-7) 102-64 on Sunday. The game without a history. Kormend led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Atomeromu's 28. Kormend forced 20 Atomeromu turnovers and outrebounded them 45-33 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Quite impressive performance for American forward Terry Allen (203-93, college: Richmond) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 6 rebounds. The former international Csaba Ferencz (194-85) contributed with 16 points and 9 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Kormend players scored in double figures. American power forward Matt Tiby (203-92, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Lawrence Gilbert (200-86, college: La-Monroe, agency: Mansfield and Associates) added 9 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Atomeromu. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Kormend maintains second position with 7-3 record having just two points less than leader Alba. Loser Atomeromu keeps the twelfth place with seven games lost. Kormend will face league's leader Alba in Szekesfehervar in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Atomeromu will play at home against PVSK Pannon (#4) and hope to win that game.
