Regular Season Round 11: Alba - Kormend 84-91

Date: December 17, 2016
The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Alba (9-2) in Szekesfehervar on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by second ranked Kormend (8-3) 91-84. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Alba. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Alba trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 28-22 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 84-91 at the end of the game. Kormend looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Terry Allen (203-93, college: Richmond) who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points and 4 assists. The former international power forward Milan Csorvasi (209-88, agency: HMS) helped adding 14 points and 6 rebounds. Canadian guard Justin Edwards (190-92, college: Kansas St.) responded with 21 points and 4 assists and American point guard Brandon Taylor (178-94, college: Utah) scored 20 points and 5 assists. Five Kormend and four Alba players scored in double figures. Kormend maintains second place with 8-3 record behind leader Alba, which they share with PVSK Pannon. Alba at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Kormend is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Vasas (#14) in Budapest in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Alba will play on the road against PVSK Pannon (#3) in Pecs and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
