Regular Season Round 11: Monthey - Lausanne 91-83

Leader Monthey delivered the eighth victory. This time they beat 8th ranked Lausanne (4-6) 91-83. Lausanne was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 50-39 second half run of Monthey. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Lausanne's players. Lausanne was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Brandon Wood (187-89, college: Michigan St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Guard Brandon Young (193-91, college: De Paul) contributed with 16 points and 8 assists for the winners. Monthey's coach Niksa Bavcevic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Karl Cochran (185-92, college: Wofford) answered with 29 points and 5 rebounds and guard Anton Wilson (196-94, college: Detroit Mercy) added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Lausanne. Five Monthey and four Lausanne players scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Monthey. They maintain first place with 8-2 record, which they share with Fribourg. Newly promoted Lausanne keeps the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with Boncourt. Monthey will play against league's second-placed Fribourg on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lausanne will play against Starwings (#4) in Basel and hopes to get back on the winning track.
