Regular Season Round 11: UNI Gyor - Vasas Akademia 87-71

Very expected game when 8th ranked Vasas Akademia (3-7) was defeated on the road by third ranked UNI Gyor (8-2) 87-71. The game was mostly controlled by UNI Gyor. Vasas Akademia was better in fourth quarter 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. UNI Gyor players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Slovakian power forward Zofia Hruscakova (190-95) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds. Belarusian swingman Tatsiana Likhtarovich (180-88) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Four UNI Gyor players scored in double figures. American center Cassie Rochel (193-91, college: Wisconsin) answered with 15 points and 9 rebounds and Bulgarian forward Radoslava Bachvarova (183-87, college: VCU) added 18 points and 4 steals in the effort for Vasas Akademia. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for UNI Gyor. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Vasas Akademia at the other side keeps the eighth place with seven games lost. UNI Gyor's next round opponent will be MTK (#10) in Budapest and are hoping to win another game. Vasas Akademia will play on the road against PINKK-Pecsi and hope to win that game.
