Regular Season Round 12: PINKK-Pecsi - Vasas Akademia 72-57

Bottom-ranked PINKK-Pecsi managed to get a second victory on Saturday night. This time they won against eighth-ranked Vasas Akademia 72-57. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 15-point difference suggests that PINKK-Pecsi is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. The hosts trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they stormed back winning two of next three quarters and won the game by 15 points. It was a great shooting night for PINKK-Pecsi especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Nikolett Gemes-Sarok (182-90) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 9 rebounds and Slovenian guard Katarina Ristic (170-84, agency: Two Points) who added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. PINKK-Pecsi's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was forward Panka Dul (177-0) with 15 points and 7 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and Serbian guard Snezana Colic (178-92) scored 10 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. PINKK-Pecsi (2-9) moved-up to ninth place. Vasas Akademia lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with eight games lost. PINKK-Pecsi will meet higher ranked UNI Gyor (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Vasas Akademia will play against MTK (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
