Regular Season Round 12: Atomeromu - PEAC-Pecs 64-56

Round 12 in A Division means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Szekszard where host Atomeromu (9-2) beat league's leader PEAC-Pecs (8-3) 64-56 on Saturday evening. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. It was a great shooting night for Atomeromu especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.5 percentage. The best player for the winners was Slovenian center Sandra Pirsic (196-84) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. Slovenian swingman Maja Erkic (183-85) chipped in 20 points. Atomeromu's coach Zeljko Djokic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian point guard Sanja Mandic (178-95, agency: BeoBasket) who recorded 13 points and 4 assists and Dorka Juhasz (189-99) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Four PEAC-Pecs players scored in double figures. Atomeromu have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with UNIQA Eurol. PEAC-Pecs at the other side dropped to the fourth place with three games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Atomeromu. PEAC-Pecs will play next round against BEAC-Ujbuda trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Atomeromu will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked MKB Euroleasing in Sopron.
