Regular Season Round 13: Lugano Tigers - Neuchatel 61-74

The most shocking disappointment of round 13 in the LNA was a home defeat of 5th ranked Lugano Tigers (6-6) to sixth ranked Neuchatel (7-5) 74-61 in the game for the fifth place. It ended the three-game winning streak of Lugano Tigers. The game was mostly controlled by Neuchatel. Lugano Tigers managed to win second period 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Serbian power forward Zoran Krstanovic (204-82) stepped up and scored 27 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and the former international Brian Savoy (189-92) chipped in 18 points and 7 assists. At the losing side American center Eric Williams (206-84, college: Wake Forest, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 18 points and 9 rebounds and the former international forward Derek Stockalper (196-84, college: Cal Poly - SLO) scored 7 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Neuchatel have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place. Lugano Tigers at the other side dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. Neuchatel are looking forward to face higher ranked Starwings (#4) in Basel in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lugano Tigers will play at home against Swiss Central and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
