Regular Season Round 21: Rostov - UMMC Junior 62-57

Very predictable result when second ranked BC Rostov (13-7) won against at home bottom-ranked UMMC Junior (5-15) 62-57 on Tuesday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. BC Rostov forced 27 UMMC Junior turnovers. It was a good game for power forward Jane Elizabet Morozova (187-97) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Evgenia Oksner (165-90) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Forward Olga Lavrova (182-95) answered with 7 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Sabina Abaidullina (181-97) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for UMMC Junior. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for BC Rostov. BC Rostov maintains second place with 13-7 record having three points less than leader Dynamo-Farm. UMMC Junior lost their fifth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. BC Rostov will face Neftyanik (#4) in Omsk in the next round. UMMC Junior will play on the road against Stavropol (#7) and hope to win that game.
