The game in Moscow was also quite interesting. 4th placed Samara (11-9) played at the court of fifth ranked MBA-2 (9-11). MBA-2 defeated Samara 74-59 on Wednesday. MBA-2 dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Samara's 34. They outrebounded Samara 37-25 including 23 on the defensive glass. MBA-2 looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for point guard Yulia Kozik (176-97) who led her team to a victory with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Elizaveta Bratchikova (190-96) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four MBA-2 players scored in double figures. Swingman Olga Omelchenko (183-91) answered with 10 points and 7 rebounds and forward Olga Ovcharenko (185-79) added 10 points and 4 assists in the effort for Samara. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. MBA-2 maintains fifth place with 9-11 record, which they share with Stavropol and Nika. Loser Samara dropped to the third position with nine games lost. MBA-2 will face Sparta&K-2 V (#9) in Vidnoye in the next round.
