Regular Season Round 13: PEAC-Pecs - ELTE-BEAC 76-61

Date: January 14, 2017
Very predictable result when fourth ranked PEAC-Pecs (9-3) won against at home bottom-ranked BEAC-Ujbuda (1-11) 76-61. The game was mostly controlled by PEAC-Pecs. BEAC-Ujbuda was better in fourth quarter 25-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding BEAC-Ujbuda to just 6 points in third quarter. PEAC-Pecs players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. American forward Jessica Kuster (188-92, college: Rice) stepped up and scored 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and Lithuanian power forward Egle Siksniute (198-91) chipped in 19 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). At the losing side forward Krisztina Sule (178-87) responded with 18 points and 5 assists and power forward Judit Barnai (189-94) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. PEAC-Pecs moved-up to third place, which they share with Atomeromu. BEAC-Ujbuda lost their fourth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. PEAC-Pecs will play against MTK (#10) in Budapest in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BEAC-Ujbuda will play on the road against Cegledi EKK to get more than just one victory in their record.
