Regular Season Round 13: Alba - KTE-Duna 90-59

A Division top team - Alba (11-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked KTE-Duna (6-7) in Szekesfehervar 90-59. The game was mostly controlled by Alba. KTE-Duna was better in third quarter 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to KTE-Duna's 38. They outrebounded KTE-Duna 37-23 including 25 on the defensive glass. The former international power forward Peter Lorant (206-85, agency: Octagon Europe) fired 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American forward Winston Shepard (203-93, college: San Diego St.) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Five Alba players scored in double figures. Serbian center Kemal Karahodzic (210-89) produced 9 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and naturalized Serbian forward Tomislav Ivosev (204-90, agency: 011 Sports) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Alba maintains first place with 11-2 record. KTE-Duna at the other side dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. Alba's next round opponent will be ZTE KK (#3) in Zalaegerszeg, which may be the game of the day. KTE-Duna will play at home against Vasas (#14) and hope to win that game.
