Regular Season Round 13: Vasas Akademia - MTK 66-54

No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Vasas Akademia (4-8) beat 10th ranked MTK (1-10) in Budapest 66-54. The game was mostly controlled by Vasas Akademia. MTK was better in second period 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Serbian guard Snezana Colic (178-92) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and American center Cassie Rochel (193-91, college: Wisconsin) chipped in 14 points and 12 rebounds. At the losing side power forward Zsuzsanna Szekely-Horvath (189-83, college: Georgetown) responded with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international swingman Orsolya Zsovar (180-84) scored 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. MTK's coach Laszlo Czigler rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Vasas Akademia maintains eighth place with 4-8 record. Newly promoted MTK keeps the tenth position with ten games lost. Vasas Akademia will play against higher ranked Miskolc (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. MTK will play against PEAC-Pecs (#4) to get more than just one victory in their record.
