Regular Season Round 22: Rostov - Neftyanik 74-78

Very important is a home loss of second ranked BC Rostov (14-8) against fourth ranked Neftyanik (11-9) on Sunday night. Host BC Rostov was defeated by Neftyanik in a tough game in Rostov 74-78. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of BC Rostov. Guard Yana Panevina (167-91) notched 25 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and center Nadezhda Matrosova (185-93) supported her with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Even a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds by forward Yana Kotova (186-88) did not help to save the game for BC Rostov. Forward Anastasia Maksimova (182-92) added 18 points for lost side. Four BC Rostov players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Neftyanik moved-up to third place, which they share with Samara. BC Rostov at the other side keeps the second position with eight games lost. Neftyanik will play against MBA-2 (#7) in Moscow in the next round. BC Rostov will play on the road against Nika (#6) in Syktyvkar and hopes to get back on the winning track.
