Very expected game in Budapest where 10th ranked MTK (1-11) was defeated by fourth ranked PEAC-Pecs (10-3) 66-57 on Saturday. MTK trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 15-11 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 57-66 at the end of the game. PEAC-Pecs dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to MTK's 26. The best player for the winners was Dorka Juhasz (189-99) who had a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds. Serbian point guard Sanja Mandic (178-95, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. PEAC-Pecs' coach Boris Maljkovic used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Power forward Zsuzsanna Szekely-Horvath (189-83, college: Georgetown) produced 16 points and 8 rebounds and the former international power forward Nikoletta Turoczi (187-80) added 8 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. PEAC-Pecs moved-up to third place. Newly promoted MTK keeps the tenth position with 11 games lost. PEAC-Pecs' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Pecs PINKK-Pecsi.
