Regular Season Round 14: Vasas - KTE-Duna 74-81

Very expected game in Budapest where 13th ranked Vasas (3-11) were defeated by ninth ranked KTE-Duna (7-7) 81-74. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Vasas won third quarter 19-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. KTE-Duna players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Serbian swingman Marko Djerasimovic (198-84, agency: BeoExcell) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. Naturalized Serbian forward Tomislav Ivosev (204-90, agency: 011 Sports) contributed with 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American forward Sam Thompson (201-92, college: Ohio St., agency: Pensack Sports) replied with 18 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Ronnie Taylor (187-81, college: NC-Greensboro, agency: Octagon Europe) added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Vasas. Five Vasas players scored in double figures. KTE-Duna moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Szedeak. Newly promoted Vasas dropped to the bottom position with 11 games lost. KTE-Duna's next round opponent will be higher ranked Szolnok (#4) in Szolnok and it may be quite challenging game. Vasas will play on the road against ZTE KK (#3) in Zalaegerszeg and hope to win that game.
