No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Lugano Tigers (8-6) beat on the road 10th ranked Lausanne (4-10) 70-62 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-13. But Lausanne won second period 19-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Lausanne 40-27 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American center Eric Williams (206-84, college: Wake Forest, agency: Octagon Europe) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Naturalized Senegalese power forward Jules Aw (202-86) accounted for 10 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side. American guard Karl Cochran (185-92, college: Wofford) came up with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Lucas Pythoud (174-93) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Lausanne in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lugano Tigers moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Starwings. Lausanne lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with ten games lost. Lugano Tigers will meet at home Massagno (#7) in the next round. Lausanne will play against Neuchatel and hope to secure a win.
