Regular Season Round 15: Szolnok - KTE-Duna 88-61

Date: January 28, 2017
There was no surprise when 9th ranked KTE-Duna (7-8) was crushed on the road by fourth ranked Szolnok (9-6) 88-61 on Saturday. Szolnok looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for Croatian center Luksa Andric (208-85, agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. International power forward Janos Eilingsfeld (198-91) helped adding 14 points and 9 rebounds. Five Szolnok players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was naturalized Serbian forward Tomislav Ivosev (204-90, agency: 011 Sports) with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and Serbian center Kemal Karahodzic (210-89) scored 13 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Szolnok have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains fourth place with 9-6 record, which they share with Falco KC and Kaposvari. Loser KTE-Duna keeps the ninth position with eight games lost. They share it with Sopron KC. Szolnok will meet higher ranked ZTE KK (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. KTE-Duna will play against Szedeak (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
