Rather expected game when 7th ranked Bellinzona (4-9) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Geneve Basket (7-7) 73-65 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 73-65. The best player for the winners was French forward Carole Leclair (185-89) who scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. The former international forward Jalinka Michaux (172-87) chipped in 15 points. Geneve Basket's coach Robert Margot used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Chanise Jenkins (165-92, college: De Paul, agency: LBM Management) who recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds and naturalized Cuban forward Luisa Avila Lopez (183-90) added 15 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Newly promoted Geneve Basket maintains fourth place with 7-7 record. Loser Bellinzona keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. They share it with BBC Troist.. Geneve Basket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Bellinzona will play against Pully (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
