Date: February 10, 2017
Bottom-ranked Winterthur (0-14) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their 14th consecutive match to eighth ranked Boncourt (6-9) 98-87 on Friday evening. Boncourt made 24-of-26 free shots (92.3 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian-Montenegrin center Nemanja Calasan (204-85, college: Purdue, agency: HMS) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 22 rebounds and American point guard Richard Carter (180-92, college: Drake, agency: Inception Sports) who added 26 points and 6 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) during the contest. Five Boncourt players scored in double figures. Boncourt's coach Nicolas Perot used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American guard Rashad Whack (190-91, college: Mt.St.Mary's) responded with 45 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman Shane Southwell (201-92, college: Kansas St.) scored 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Boncourt moved-up to seventh place. Winterthur at the other side still closes the standings with 14 games lost. Boncourt are looking forward to face higher ranked Starwings (#6) in Basel in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Winterthur will play at home against Lausanne (#10) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
