Regular Season Round 16: Neuchatel - Lausanne 80-67
Date: February 10, 2017
Very expected game when 10th ranked Lausanne (4-11) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Neuchatel (10-5) 80-67. It looked good early as Lausanne took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Neuchatel had a 20-16 second period charge getting the lead and Lausanne was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 67-80. Lausanne was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by Serbian power forward Zoran Krstanovic (204-82) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and naturalized Dominican guard Bryan Colon (181-92) supported him with 16 points. Even 30 points and 4 steals by American guard Karl Cochran (185-92, college: Wofford) did not help to save the game for Lausanne. His fellow American import forward Roger Woods (196-93, college: UALR) added 17 points and 14 rebounds for lost side. Neuchatel have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Lausanne lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with 11 games lost. Neuchatel will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lausanne will play on the road against Winterthur (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
