Regular Season Round 27: Sparta&K-2 V - Neftyanik 65-55

The game between third ranked Neftyanik (14-13) and ninth ranked Sparta&K-2 V (10-15) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Neftyanik was defeated by Sparta&K-2 V in Vidnoye 55-65. Sparta&K-2 V had a 34-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Sparta&K-2 V made 7 blocks. It was a good game for the former international forward Julia Gladkova (185-94) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds. Ksenia Sharova (178-98) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Guard Yana Panevina (167-91) answered with 21 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Viktoriya Edomakha (187-95) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Neftyanik. Neftyanik's coach Elena Lazutkina rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Sparta&K-2 V moved-up to eighth place. Neftyanik at the other side dropped to the fourth position with 13 games lost. Sparta&K-2 V are again looking forward to face higher ranked Neftyanik (#4) in Omsk in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Neftyanik will have a break next round.
