Regular Season Round 18: Alba - Jaszberenyi 92-80

Leader Alba delivered the fifteenth victory. This time they beat 11th ranked Jaszberenyi (6-12) 92-80 in Szekesfehervar. Jaszberenyi was ahead by 7 points at the halftime before a 55-36 second half run of Alba. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Jaszberenyi's players. It was a good game for Canadian guard Justin Edwards (190-92, college: Kansas St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists. The former international power forward Peter Lorant (206-85, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 22 points and 5 assists for the winners. Alba's coach Branislav Dzunic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Serbian Andrija Bojic (207-93, agency: BeoBasket) replied with 23 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Devon Saddler (183-91, college: Delaware) added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Jaszberenyi. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Alba have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 15-3 record. Jaszberenyi at the other side keeps the eleventh place with 12 games lost. Alba will play against Atomeromu (#12) in Paks in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Jaszberenyi will play at home against Vasas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
