Regular Season Round 28: Samara - UMMC Junior 75-82

Bottom-ranked UMMC Junior managed to get the seventh victory, breaking the two-game losing streak. This time they won against fifth-ranked Samara 82-75. UMMC Junior made 23-of-30 charity shots (76.7 percent) during the game. Samara was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by swingman Sabina Abaidullina (181-97) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and Ekaterina Ilinova (178-95) supported her with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Even 20 points and 7 rebounds by forward Evgenija Kozhevnikova (182-81) did not help to save the game for Samara. Guard Kristina Evseytcheva (174-91) added 17 points for lost side. Four Samara players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. UMMC Junior maintains tenth position with 7-21 record. Samara at the other side keeps the fifth place with 13 games lost. UMMC Junior will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Samara will play on the road against Dynamo-2 M. (#9) in Moscow and hopes to get back on the winning track.
