Regular Season Round 18: Dynamo M. - MBA 73-79

The most shocking disappointment of round 18 was a home defeat of 5th ranked Dynamo Moscow (7-10) to sixth ranked MBA (8-9) 79-73 in the game for the fifth place. MBA forced 19 Dynamo Moscow turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when MBA made 7 blocks. Point guard Karina Nizamova (170-92) scored 24 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and center Olga Gorbacheva (192-88, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 14 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks during the contest. Four MBA players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Varvara Psareva (192-85) with 8 points and 14 rebounds and Australian Katie-Rae Ebzery (177-90) scored 20 points. MBA moved-up to fifth place. Dynamo Moscow at the other side dropped to the sixth position with ten games lost. They share it with Dynamo NR. MBA are looking forward to face league's second-placed Dynamo Kursk at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Dynamo Moscow will play against Spartak Noginsk (#11) and is hoping to win this game.
