Regular Season Round 18: MTK - Miskolc 48-79

The game with biggest result difference took place in Budapest. Local MTK (1-14) was outscored by sixth ranked Miskolc (10-6) 79-48 on Saturday night. The game without a history. Miskolc led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding MTK to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Miskolc forced 21 MTK turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Miskolc made 8 blocks. 25 personal fouls committed by MTK helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Serbian power forward Tina Jovanovic (190-91) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. The former international Orsolya Szecsi (190-92, college: Duquesne, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds. Four Miskolc players scored in double figures. Miskolc's coach Maikel Lopez felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international power forward Nikoletta Turoczi (187-80) who recorded 15 points and 8 rebounds and the former international swingman Orsolya Zsovar (180-84) added 6 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Miskolc maintains sixth position with 10-6 record. MTK lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth place with 14 games lost. Miskolc are looking forward to face PINKK-Pecsi (#9) at home in the next round. MTK will play against ZTE NKK and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
