Regular Season Round 19: Atomeromu - Alba 73-83

A Division top team - Alba (16-3) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat twelfth ranked Atomeromu (5-14) in Paks 83-73. The game was mostly controlled by Alba. Atomeromu was better in third quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Atomeromu's 26. Alba players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a great evening for the former international power forward Peter Lorant (206-85, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 8 rebounds. International power forward Akos Keller (208-89) helped adding 13 points and 6 rebounds. Alba's coach Branislav Dzunic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American power forward Matt Tiby (203-92, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) responded with 16 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import forward Lawrence Gilbert (200-86, college: La-Monroe, agency: Mansfield and Associates) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Four Atomeromu players scored in double figures. Alba have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 16-3 record. Atomeromu lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 14 games lost. Alba will play against league's second-placed Kaposvari at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Atomeromu will play against Vasas (#13) in Budapest and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
