Regular Season Round 19: Sopron KC - Szolnok 74-95

The game in Sopron supposed to be also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Szolnok (12-7) played at the court of 8th ranked Sopron KC (9-10). Szolnok smashed Sopron KC 95-74 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Szolnok. Sopron KC managed to win third quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Sopron KC 45-29 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Troy Barnies (200-89, college: Maine) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. International power forward Janos Eilingsfeld (198-91) accounted for 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. American guard Brandon Johnson (183-86, college: San Diego, agency: BeoBasket) came up with 20 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import guard Julien Mills (193-85, college: Ball St., agency: HMS) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Sopron KC in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sopron KC's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Falco KC. Loser Sopron KC keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Szedeak. Szolnok will meet at home Jaszberenyi (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sopron KC will play against Szedeak and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
