Regular Season Round 32: Rostov - MBA-2 79-81

The most exciting game of round 32 in the Superleague 1 took place in Rostov. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of second-ranked BC Rostov (17-13) to third ranked MBA-2 (18-16) 81-79 in the game for the second place. It was a key game for the second position in the league. MBA-2 made 50-of-59 free shots (84.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 44 BC Rostov turnovers and outrebounded BC Rostov 113-90 including a 81-68 advantage in defensive rebounds. MBA-2 looked well-organized offensively handing out 40 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when MBA-2 made 30 blocks. 25 personal fouls committed by BC Rostov helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Yulia Kozik (176-97) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 5 assists and Aleksandra Ivanova (-99) who added 18 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Power forward Ekaterina Maschenkova (182-91) responded with 22 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Evgenia Oksner (165-90) scored 12 points and 4 assists. Five BC Rostov players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. MBA-2 moved-up to second place. BC Rostov at the other side dropped to the third position with 13 games lost. MBA-2 are looking forward to face league's leader Dynamo-Farm in Kursk in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. BC Rostov will play on the road against Sparta&K-2 V in Vidnoye and is hoping to win this game.
